This term has absolutely flown by with all of the exciting things we’ve been doing.
We had our House Captains and School Captains inducted at an assembly by MP Mary-Anne Thomas and the 4/5/6’s performed our class song.
Grade 4/5/6's perform their take of Can't Stop the Feeling for Mary-Anne Thomas.

Our Malmsbury Environmental Action League learnt how to conduct a waste and biodiversity audit.
Volunteers from the Kyneton Sports and Aquatic Centre came and ran a soccer clinic with us.
We went on a whole school excursion to the Castlemaine State Festival and the Grade 4/5/6’s listened to a visiting artist talk about creating art with recycled materials. The students then participated in an art workshop where they made their own abstract masks and could incorporate cable ties into their artwork.
Looking forward to another exciting term!

Today we were very lucky to have some students from Kyneton Secondary College come to our school and coach us playing basketball. We started with some warm up games, then the KSC students ran some basketball relays. We split up into two groups and had some small games.
We had lots of fun working with the high school students, learning more about basketball and working on our motor skills. We think the KSC students did a great job coaching us and hope they do well in their assessment.
What is a sport that you haven’t played before but would like to learn?

This term we had a very successful day at the Athletics whether we came back with a ribbon or not. Everyone tried their best and we had some beautiful weather to make it even better!
We recently participated in the Gymnastics program at school. Here are the boys showing off some of their new skills.
Did you watch the Olympic Games? What were your favourite events?

Grade 5/6’s and 3/4’s have been practising for the Cross Country competition at Hanging Rock. We practised on Friday, Monday and Tuesday last week. We had the trials to qualify for the team on Wednesday. Everyone did seven laps around the school to try and qualify for the Cross Country team. 20 students are selected to make up the Malmsbury Cross Country team. Tomorrow (Tuesday 5/5) Tara and our team of 20 students will compete against other schools at Hanging Rock, for the chance to move onto regionals (Top 10 from each age group). Well done to everyone who tried out for the team and Go team Malmsbury!
