Grade 5/6’s and 3/4’s have been practising for the Cross Country competition at Hanging Rock. We practised on Friday, Monday and Tuesday last week. We had the trials to qualify for the team on Wednesday. Everyone did seven laps around the school to try and qualify for the Cross Country team. 20 students are selected to make up the Malmsbury Cross Country team. Tomorrow (Tuesday 5/5) Tara and our team of 20 students will compete against other schools at Hanging Rock, for the chance to move onto regionals (Top 10 from each age group). Well done to everyone who tried out for the team and Go team Malmsbury!

Have you ever competed in a Marathon or fun run?
May 10, 2013
Today six Malmsbury Primary School students competed at the Interschool Cross Country at Hanging Rock. The 9-10 year old competitors had to race 2 kilometres and the 11-13 year old competitors had to race 3 kilometres.
The people that went to the Cross Country were Percy, Charlie, Ethan, Dom, Francis and Jude.
In the 9 year old boys race Francis came first and Charlie came eighth. In the 10 year old boys race Dom came fifteenth. In the 11 year old boys race Percy came tenth and Ethan came forty first. Jude came tenth in the 12- 13 year old boys race.
There were about 80 people in each race. Everybody from our school ran a time under 20 minutes. That was a great effort!
Congratulations to Francis as he has made it to the next round – the State Cross Country at St. Arnaud.
